Items & Collections

Finding What You Need:

Search our online catalog to see if an item is available at our library. The catalog can tell you if an item part of our collection, if it's checked in, and where to find it. If an item is checked out you can put a hold in the item so that we will notify you when it is checked back in. If the library doesn't have the item at all, we can request to borrow it from another library through an interlibrary loan.

Books:

We have print materials for children, teens, and adults. Special print collections include: Adult Fiction Large Print Books, Juvenile Graphic Novels, Young Adult Manga, Spanish Language and Bilingual Children's Books, and Books by Iowa Authors.

DVDs/CDs:

Our DVD collection includes both adult and children's titles. We have some audiobooks on CD as well as some music CDs.

Toys and Kits:

The library has several children's activities available for checkout, ranging from STEM learning kits to LEGO sets.

Library of Things:

The Bloomfield Public Library has the largest Library of Things in Southeast Iowa. This collection is comprised of larger handy-to-have items, such as folding tables, a socket wrench set, drink dispenser and so much more. For the full list, visit our Library of Things page.

 Ebooks and Eaudiobooks:

The Bloomfield Public Library has an Ebook and Eaudiobook subscription through the Libby mobile app. Libby is available to residents of Bloomfield, Pulaski, Floris, and Drakesville through our library.

To get started download the Libby app, select "Bloomfield Public Library" and enter your library card number. If you need assistance contact the library and we can help get you started.

Interlibrary Loans:

If we don't have an item you're interested in, we can check on the Interlibrary loan websites and see if it's available at another library. This is a free service, it may take a couple of weeks for the item to arrive, but we'll contact you to let you know it's available for pickup.
